Medicare Senior Products

For most people, they will first be eligible for Medicare Coverage when they reach age 65. When nearing age 65 a Medicare eligible beneciary should contact a knowledgeable insurance agent, to assist them in understanding how Medicare works.  A Medicare Program representative cannot provide them all the information they need.  Researching it themselves will help provide a base understanding but they may miss understanding the interrelations with the different products and how picking one product may not allow them to pick another product.  Trying to understand Part B, Part D, Plan G, Advantage, and Hospital Indemnity terms takes experience and it is easier to allow an insurance agent to explain it to you.

Medicare Standard

A new eligible beneciary will first need to decide to Indemnity whether to receive Medicare coverage directly from the program or through an insurance company. For those deciding with standard Medicare, additional decisions will then have to be made for Part D (Prescription) coverage and Medicare Supplement (Medigap) coverage.

We offer several options for Part D insurance coverage.  A Medicare will make a decision on a Part D plan based on formulary coverage, price, and quality of service.  Also, this decision needs to be reviewed each year when enrollees have the option to switch plans.

Medicare Supplements are optional insurance coverage.  They cover deductibles, co-insurance & co-pays that are the enrollee’s responsibility.  The benefit to having Medicare Supplement coverage is to cap maximum out of pocket expenditures and to fit into monthly “Fixed Income” type budgets.

Medicare Advantage

The alternative to obtaining Medicare coverage directly from the government is to receive through an insurance company. These Medicare Advantage plans combine Medicare Part A, B, and D into their plans. Medicare Advantage frequently adds other health coverage like dental and vision which is not covers by Medicare. These plans may or may not have a premium.  Deciding to enroll in an Advantage plan may affect future Medicare option decisions in either a negative or positive way.  A knowledgeable insurance agent can explain these issues and how they may affect the enrollee.

CBG offers several Medicare Advantage Plans.  The Enrollee will make decisions on which plan to enroll in based on drug formulary, price, and quality of service, provider network, geographic coverage and plan value enhancement.

Complicated, yes!  That is why CBG is here.  We can help you get through making these decisions more quickly, thoroughly, and with the satisfaction being comfortable with your decision.
